Early Key-Wind Musical Box by Henriot, No. 12127, playing six dance airs, with brass bedplate stamped Henriot , brass comb washers, hinged endflap, embossed tune-sheet and rosewood lid with boxwood and harewood inlay, wd. 16 3/4 in., cylinder 10 1/2 in. Note: According to Orde Hume, Henriot à Geneve is listed as a watchmaker, circa 1785. His name is found occasionally on fine-quality key-wind movements of the period 1835 - 1850. The tune-sheet on this box features an unusual embossed border of thistles and other wild flowers, and appears never to have been pinned to the lid.
