Alfred S. Mira (American, 1900-1980) City Square Signed "Mira" l.r. Oil on canvasboard, 16 x 11 3/4 in. (40.6 x 29.8 cm), framed. Condition: Minor retouch, unobtrusive surface grime. N.B. Mira grew up in New York, and from an early age enjoyed drawing. He studied intermittently in the 1910s and 1920s at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League. Though he traveled throughout America and Europe, Mira found his native New York to be his best muse.
