French, Early 20th century. Pair of Louis XV style walnut fauteuils or open armchairs, one covered in blue leather, the other in petitpoint floral tapestry. Both with arched cartouche shaped, padded back and scrolled arms with padded elbow rests over a serpentine seat with conforming scroll carved apron centered with foliage and rising on cabriole leg carved at the knee with trailing flowerheads and terminating in leafy carved scrolled toes. Height 36.25", width 22.25" (arm to arm), seat depth 20", seat height 15".
