French School, 19th century. A pair of diminutive portraits on ivory of young beauties, each with powdered hair and an open necked dress exposing porcelain decolletage, one woman with flowers in her hair and clutching a bouquet at her chest, the other with ruffled collar and jeweled hair pin and earrings. Both portraits in gilt frame with inset black velvet mat around an ovular portrait, signed to lower left or right. Framed approximately 8" x 7 1/4", sight size approximately 3 1/8" x 2 3/8".
