American, late 18th/early 19th century. Chippendale style cherry wood slant front desk, the rectangular top with exposed dovetails over the hinged slant opening to a fitted interior with star inlaid prospect door headed and flanked to each side with hidden compartments, 7 small drawers and 8 valenced pigeon holes over four graduated drawers with brass oval pulls and raised on bracket feet. Height 42.5", width 43", depth 21.25".
