Wilson & Sons, Albany St., N.Y. 1854 , made up of twelve engraved and hand-colored gores and two calottes laid to the celestial poles of a plaster sphere, identified to the seventh magnitude and nebulae, with constellations represented as stylized mythological figures, beasts and instruments, showing hour ring, Equinoctial Collure, Ecliptic and Equinoctial Circles, in engraved brass meridian, on turned walnut stand with "X" stretchers and paper calendar ring divided by degrees of Amplitude and Azimuth, the Zodiacal calendar identified by name and sigil, the Gregorian calendar, compass points, and Equation of Time inside red-painted rim with foliate borders, ht. 18 in., (scattered surface splits and light abrasions in the original lacquer, minor edge wear on painted rim, otherwise good original condition).
