Two Early Papier-mache Shoulder Head Dolls and a Body, Germany, c. 1840-50, with black painted hair in arrangement of swept-back bun and back curls, painted pupil-less eyes, kid bodies, carved wood arms and legs, red and blue kid bands, and slippers, in original cotton clothes, one only in chemise and petticoat, ht. 12 1/4, 13 1/4 in., (wear, clothes toned and damaged), and a similar, but smaller, doll body, ht. 6 1/2 in., in period box.
