Marquis Candy Container, probably France, early 20th century, with Heubach bisque socket head impressed 1900 - 19/0 and horseshoe mark, open mouth, fixed dark-brown glass eyes, curly blonde mohair wig, carton shoulder plate and limbs, cylindrical card torso opening at waist, bisque hands holding wire pince-nez and brass-knopped cane, in original pink satin tailcoat, yellow breeches, bow-tie, black tricorn hat and kid shoes, ht. 13 in., (satin waistcoat extremely fragile). Costume overall fresh and well-preserved, with the exception of the waistocat. Irregularity on fingers.
