Steiff Ginger Mohair Somersaulting Chimpanzee, c. 1909-13, with underscored "F" button in ear, glass eyes, beige felt face, arms and hands, excelsior stuffing, jointed at neck, shoulders and hips, the torso containing clockwork mechanism causing the monkey to perform somersaults when his arms are wound, ht. 9 1/4 in., (light dirt on fur and felt, repair on upper left arm, inoperative). Overall good, fur faded, re-stitched at shoulders, left leg and neck of body, felt slightly dirty, minor fur loss in places, inoperative.
