After Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (Italian, 1483-1520). "The Virgin and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist and Saint Elizabeth", 19th century oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Painting depicts Mary and Elizabeth at right, the Madonna's hands clasped in prayer as the baby Jesus sits over her draped knee, and Elizabeth peering over her shoulder to hold the infant's arm steady as he leans forward to bless the nude toddler John at their feet as he holds a cross topped staff in his hand, the scene set in an interior with blue sky and a figural bust in view at upper left.
