Marc Chagall (Russian/French, 1887-1985) Lot of Two Book Illustrations: Plate 33 from FABLES, by Le Fontaine, published 1952 (Cramer, 22); and The Creation of Man, from the BIBLE Series, published 1957 (Cramer, 29). The former signed in the plate. Etchings on paper, plate sizes approximately 11 3/4 x 9 in. (29.8 x 22.8 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Both with margins of 1 1/4 inches or more with deckled right and lower edges, the latter with a loss to the margin at the corner l.r. The former plate measures 11 1/2 x 9 1/4 in.; the other is 12 x 9 in.
