The artist is photographed with this work at the Grant Park open-air Art Fair of 1933, pictured in Susan Weininger and Kent Smith's Gertrude Abercrombie (Springfield: Illinois State Museum, 1991), pg 13. A copy of the exhibition catalog accompanies the lot. Slight bowing to artist board, craquelure, minor paint loses in u.r. quadrant (less than 1/16 x 1/16 in.), small crease or possible tear to board in u.l. quadrant, approx. 1/2 in. length, gummed brown tape residue to the reverse.
