Artist Designed Sterling Silver, 14kt Gold and Enamel Pendant Necklace, Earl Pardon, composed of hematite beads suspending a shaped pendant set with flattened free form tri-color wires and beads flanking strips of polychrome enamel and abalone, bezel-set peridot accent, conforming clasp, lg. 18 and 2 x 1 3/8 in., signed. Note: Earl Pardon (1926-1991) was known for his abstract collages of silver, gold, enamel and mosaic. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institution, among others. His work has been described as both Modernist in its use of color and composition, as well as anti-Modernist in its tendency toward ornamentation.
