Cased Russian Goldwashed Silver and Enamel Nine Piece Tea and Dessert Service, St. Petersburg, late 19th/early 20th century, Grachev, makers, comprising ovoid teapot, hot water pot, open sugar basket, creamer, oval serving basket, oval salver, pair of sugar tongs, sugar sifting spoon, and small fork, all enameled with a band of flowers in quatrefoils between vine borders, with mother of pearl lid finials and heatstops, in fitted oak Gratchev case, tray lg. 13 1/2, serving basket wd. 7 1/2, teapot ht. 5 3/4 in., approx. 90 troy oz. sugar tong with small enamel chips to top of one arm, and base of the other arm. creamer with smalls spots of enamel repair to two of the quatrefoils. sugar basket with tiny nick to enamel. teapot with areas of enamel repair at two of the quatrefoils, and a deep scratch to enamel at spout (approx. 1/4" long). hot water pot with similar scratch to spout. serving basket with thumbsized dents to each of the long sides, and with corresponding enamel restoration; other spots of enamel repair, (in total, enamel repairs to 8 of the 14 quatrefoils. Wear to goldwash of tray, with minor wear to goldwash of other pieces. Minor usage wear overall. Box good.
