Assembled Set of Twelve Bloor Derby Monkey Orchestra Figures, England, c. 1830, each polychrome enamel and gilt decorated, including a conductor, ht. 7 in.; together with seated figures wearing ruffled collars, a bass-drummer, ht. 4 in.; a cymbalist, ht. 3 3/4 in.; a trumpeter, ht. 3 7/8 in.; violinist, ht. 4 3/4 in.; cellist, ht. 5 in.; French horn player, 3 7/8 in.; one playing the triangle, ht. 3 7/8 in.; two playing the recorder, ht. 3 7/8 in.; one playing a horn, ht. 3 7/8 in.; and one playing the tambourine, ht. 14 in.; red printed factory marks, the conductor with a painted mark. Conductor: professionally restored to raised hand, to cuff on lower hand and to neck. Drummer: sticks restored Cymbalist: broken through and simply repaired to a wrist Trumpeter: slightest enamel flake off of surface to base Violinist: bow, violin and both hands professionally restored Cellist: restored to bow, cello and both hands French horn player: horn professionally restored Triangle player: instrument and one hand restored Recorder players: one missing end of recorder; other missing end and needing re-restoring Horn player: horn and hands restored Tambourine player: one wrist with break and simply reglued; ruffled cuff with chip. No other apparent cracks, chips or restorations.
