Choussard, rectangular, the hinged lid and sides enameled with pale blue navette ground, with lapis blue, black, and green scroll borders, goldwashed interior, the lid mounted with an elaborate yellow gold flower-filled basket, the floral stems mounted with various colored stones, mainly faceted, including pink spinel, emeralds, blue sapphires, opals, peridot, pink topaz, rubies, a brownish-pink diamond, a fire opal, a turquoise, as well as three old mine-cut diamonds, (approx. 3/4 to 2 carats), and extensive mine cut diamond melee, lg. of gold and gem-set basket 5 3/4, box 6 5/8 x 4 1/8 x approx. 2 1/2 in., total weight of box approx. 30 troy oz. small losses to box at: back, at one navette; right side, near base; underside, at approx. 21 navettes. minor age wear. champleve enamel maker''s mark rubbed.
