Federal Mahogany and Tiger Maple Inlaid Card Table, Boston, 1795-1805, the leading edges are banded with patterned veneer above the skirt which has classical pictorial inlays including an eagle in a tiger maple oval central reserve with eighteen stars overhead and four dies with inlaid neo-classical urns above the legs which have frontal tiger maple panels outlined in stringing ending in cuff inlays, old refinish, (minor imperfections, ht. 29, wd. 36, dp. 17 5/8 in. Two-board top; top has a support applied underneath; minor beading loss, loss to 1/2 in. area on lower right border of eagle, and a thin line of veneer is missing on right border edge; split to right front leg from top, about 3 in. long; 2 blocks added to inside of front legs; 1 1/2 in. patch to left table top edge, and a 1 1/2 in. strip along wd. of the rear of the table when closed; cherry and white pine.
