Needlework Sampler, "Ann Maria Bowne done under the tuition of M. A. Jenkins 1829" the sampler worked in silk threads on a linen ground, with rows of alphabets above and below a pious verse, lower register with a picture of a school or large building, flanked by trees and birds, the whole enclosed in a geometric flowering vine, (minor toning and fading), ht. 16 3/4 x 17 1/2 in., in a later molded wood frame. No repairs detected, frame and glass are probably early 20th c. Textile is loose from backboard, (not glued).
