Federal Mahogany Tall Clock, Simon Willard, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1800, with pierced fret top, free-standing fluted columns flanking the arched hood door with line inlay over the 12 in. painted iron "Wilson" dial, moon's age in the arch with ship flying the American flag, transfer hemispheres, inscribed Simon Willard, and Warranted for Mr. Joshua Eaton, rectangular waist door with checkered inlay flanked by fluted quarter columns, the base with checkered, line and banded inlay on a two-stage molding and ogee feet, eight-day time and strike movement with rack and snail, period pendulum and two tin-cased weights, (restoration), ht. 93 1/2 in. Damage to both two-stage base molding and ogee feet, some paint loss on moon''s age dial, transfer hemispheres and numerals, signature relined, old replacement fret and finial plinths.
