Portrait Miniature on Ivory and a Dageurreotype of a Young Man, probably Connecticut, 1829, watercolor on ivory depicting a young man with light brown hair, identified and dated in inscriptions on the reverse and interior of case as Horace Trowbridge Wildman, September 29, 1829, done when he was 21 years old, 2 1/2 x 2 in. , housed in a velvet covered oval case; accompanied by a daguerreotype depicting the portrait miniature, (tarnish halo around image), 2 x 2 1/2 in. in a brown embossed leather case. Note: Genealogical research indicates Horace Wildman was born December 10, 1808 in Fairfield County, Connecticut to Eliakim Wildman and Elizabeth (Benedict) Wildman. Horace married Catherine I. Ely (1810-1883), on May 11, 1830, together they had five children and resided in Danbury, Connecticut. Horace died January 9, 1858.
