Sheet Iron Rooster Weathervane, America, late 19th/early 20th century, pierced. cut-out sheet iron figure mounted on an iron pole, no stand, (imperfections), overall ht. 36, lg. 24 in. Provenance: This weathervane was removed from the Temple Sinai on Coolidge Corner in Brookline, Massachusetts, during recent renovations to its monumental tower, which featured the rooster on the mast over the domed cupola. Rusty weathered surface, separation where figure riveted to shaft.
