Framed Double Silhouette Portraits of a Lady and a Boy, probably America, 1838, the names of the sitters, their birthdates, and date of silhouette are printed above and below portraits, showing the likenesses of "Lydia Stone/Aged 40/ Was Born December the 24, 1795," and "Joseph B. Lawrence/Aged 10/Was Born December the 29, 1828," both silhouettes dated "June the 5, 1838," hollow-cut portraits highlighted with ink and graphite over paper set side by side, sight size 5 3/4 x 7 1/2 in., in a period molded giltwood frame. Double cuts of each were done, such that there is a sheet of paper (black) sandwiched between the two portraits, however there is no printed identification on the hidden silhouettes. The two tears on the boy are about 1/2 in lg. Some fading of the black paper on both, but different paper was used for each, matt on the woman and shiny, somewhat irridescent on the boy.
