Molded Copper "Smuggler" Running Horse Weather Vane, attributed to Harris & Co. , Boston, Massachusetts, late 19th century, flattened full-body figure mounted on a copper rod, including a white-painted iron rod with partial cast iron directionals topped with a small copper sphere, verdigris surface, (minor dents), no stand, ht. 17 1/4, lg. 31 3/4 in. Provenance: The weather vane was originally atop the carraige house on the former property of Darius R. Emerson of Newton, Massachusetts. One side of belly dented inward a bit, several minor small bullet dents, back of copper vertical front support rod is missing.
