Two Portrait Miniatures of a Gentleman and a Lady, America, c. 1840, both watercolor on ivory oval portraits, one showing the woman wearing a black dress with white lace collar and bonnet and gold earrings and crusifix necklace, 2 1/2 x 2 1/8 in.; the gentleman dressed in a black jacket and tie, 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 in., both housed in a gilt brass oval locket case. Condition: The portrait of a woman with 1/4 in. crack along right edge.
