Pressed Gilt Tin Panel Depicting "The National Medallion," America, c. 1861, centered with four round reserves showing the front and back of two historical medallions: one depicting the scene of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the reverse showing the signatures of the signers; the other depicting a bust of George Washington and the reverse showing the "Washington Before Boston" medal, with Washington mounted, and canons on Dorchester Heights overlooking the city of Boston and the retreat of the British troops; the text above and below includes The Declaration of Independence, and the Battle Roll of the Revolution, also a roster of the Presidents of the United States with their birthdates, date of death, and years in office beginning with George Washington and ending with James Buchanan in 1861, (gilt wear), 6 1/2 x 12 1/2 in., in a contemporary wood frame.
