Mahogany Tavern Clock Attributed to Aaron Willard, Boston, c. 1825, with turned and glazed bezel over the 11 3/4 in dia. concave painted iron dial, lower waist door, eight-day brass timepiece with iron weight, brass faced, lead backed pendulum bob and iron rod, ht. 30 in. A related example is illustrated and discussed in Roger W. Robinson and Herschel B. Burt, The Willard House and Clock Museum and The Willard Family Clockmakers , pps. 187-188. Case is in old refinished condition, dial in undisturbed condition, hands, weight and pendulum appear to be period and the original, head section of case stamped "2".
