Mahogany Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock by Aaron Willard, Jr. , Boston, c. 1825, with brass bezel over the 7 3/4 in. dia. painted iron dial with Roman numerals and signed A. Willard, Jr., Boston , half round molded frames enclosing reverse-painted glasses, the lower with eagle and garland on a mustard ground, lower pedestal with acorn, eight-day time only weight powered movement with pendulum and lead weight, ht. 38 in. Dial relined including signature, side ornaments are added, lower glass is an old repaint, throat glass is original; metal weight baffle is a replacement; movement, weight and pendulum are period and correct for the clock.
