Mahogany Bracket Clock by "Daniel Rose," Reading, Pennsylvania, c. 1830, scroll-top case with turned finials, free-standing columns flanking the 10 in. painted iron dial inscribed Daniel Rose Reading Pa 1776, on carved and turned feet, eight-day time and strike fusee movement, with silk thread suspension, ht. 27 1/2 in. Extensive restoration/conservation to the dial including signature and date and moon dial; case refinished, movement and dial are mounted on a seating board and appear to be original to the case. Movement appears to be original to the dial, period paint wash on secondary surfaces, sliding backboard is original.
