Charles Edwin Lewis Green (American, 1844-1915) Autumn Trees in Forest Signed "C. E.L. Green." l.r., identified on labels affixed to the reverse, inscribed "Property of Caroline B. Green/Apr. 9, 1913 C.E.L. Green" in pencil on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 20 x 27 in. (50.8 x 68.6 cm), framed. Condition: Subtle canvas deformation, scattered retouch. Provenance: From the collection of the Fuller Museum of Art, Brockton, Massachusetts. Strip lined (adhered with beeswax), also wax soaked on areas of craquelure on the reverse, small area of retouch in the u.r. quadrant beneath frame liner, approx. 1/4 x 1/2 in.
