Ludwig Sander (American, 1906-1975) Manitou III Signed, dated, and titled "Sander 66... " on the reverse, identified on a label from the Henri Gallery, Washington D.C., affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 40 x 44 in. (101.6 x 11.7 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime. Provenance: Purchased from Henri Gallery, Washington D.C., 1968 to the present owners by descent. There is scattered craquelure throughout and some very mild scattered varnish inconsistencies. Soiling and staining throughout in addition to areas of bloom. The work would benefit from a cleaning.
