Sir Jacob Epstein (British/American, 1880-1959) Head of Tabitha (1957) Unsigned, edition of five. Bronze with light brown patina, approximately 7 x 7 in. (17.8 x 17.8 cm), on a stone plinth. Condition: Minor surface grime. Provenance: Purchased from Lady Kathleen (Garman) Epstein in 1965; New England private collection. N.B. Correspondence from Lady Epstein dated August 17, 1965, an inscribed photograph, a shipping invoice from James Bourlet & Sons Ltd., London, and a handcrafted contemporary wooden sculpture stand by Huston & Company, Poland Spring, Maine, accompanies the lot. Surface grime is minor and unobtrusive.
