American School, 19th century. "Portrait of Young Boy with Apple", oil on canvas, signed lower right "R. Gibb". Informal portrait painting depicting a young boy with chin length strawberry blonde hair at bust length, the child leaning forward on his forearm atop a red pillow or cushion with a red apple in his hand resting on the surface, the boy's head cocked to left and his blue eyes peering at something out of view. Framed approximately 21.75" x 18", unframed approximately 16" x 12". Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. & Mrs. H.C. Carson of Atlanta, Georgia.
