Bahktiari Carpet, West Persia, last quarter 19th century, (small areas of wear, slight end fraying, very small crude repair), 19 ft. 4 in. x 13 ft. 2 in. Literature: Lot includes a booklet from the Persian Building at the Philadelphia Sesquicentennial, December 6, 1926, illustrating this carpet while on display. The areas of wear are small in relation to overall size of the carpet and are worn enough to show foundation. The largest and most worn area is about 16 to 18 inches square. The end fraying amounts to about one inch missing from both ends.
