Sold for:

Khila Rug, East Caucasus, last quarter 19th century, (very slight moth damage, some black oxidation), 4 ft. 9 in. x 3 ft. 7 in. Mostly good pile, some areas showing slight wear, some moth damage mostly in diagonal stripe border. Black oxydation in guard stripes. There is no fading. The lighter colors in certain places are due to abrash. This is a color change due to slightly different dye lots when making the rug. It shows dye lots were produced in smalll quantities as in a village situation.
