Reuben Haley Rhuba Rhombic Vase Glass United States, c. 1928 Metallic smoked glass in angular abstract form, unsigned, approx. ht. 6 1/2 in. Note: Haley was inspired by the Cubist movement after his visit to the 1925 Exposition des Artes Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. Haley aimed to combine refined art and scientific knowledge in a three-dimensional object that was affordable for the middle class interested in Modernism. Few very small nicks on exterior edge of rim.
