Yuri Suhl Bird Sculpture Driftwood and paint Massachusetts, 1974 Shaped and layered pieces of driftwood assembled to resemble a bird, feather pieces painted blue and green, all supported on two leg pieces in a rectangular base, signed Yuri Suhl 1974 on base, ht. 17 5/8 in. Note: Yuri Suhl is known primarily as the author of "They Fought Back: The Story of the Jewish Resistance in Nazi Germany". He retired to Martha's Vineyard and devoted himself to making art out of found objects, primarily driftwood.
