Mosaic Glass Window, Possibly John La Farge Glass, lead, and wood United States, late 19th/early 20th century Rectangular wood frame fitted with a mosaic glass panel comprised of white confetti and rippled glass with corner rosettes, the interior framework in a red border, centering a stylized landscape with turquoise and amber leaves, over the moon with crackled clear glass water below, ht. 33, wd. 29 1/2 in., with wooden frame. Note: The use of opalescent, ripple, and confetti glass, the varying widths of the lead came, and the three-dimensional aspects of the composition, are all characteristics of John La Farge, who patented an opalescent glass technique in the 1880s. missing small piece of red glass form upper right quadrant.
