Small Renaissance Revival Austro-Hungarian Silver, Enamel, and Painted Glass Compote late 19th century, ovoid body, with silver mounts and enamel rim depicting continuous scene of classical figures at various pursuits inside and out, over flute cut glass bowl painted with faux marbling, with gilt-metal stem formed as a warrior carrying sword and shield, on similar ovoid painted glass and enameled ovoid base, vessel lg. 4 1/2, ht. approx. 4 1/4 in., (restoration needed). glue residue to top edge of enamel rim, with some painting over it. This glue lifting somewhat. wear to painted surface of glass/crystal. stem broken and repaired at ankle and foot (figure has been off base).
