Silk Needlework Picture of a Saint in a Landscape, 19th century, rectangular format, stitched in silk and chenille threads, depicting a saint seated writing on a scroll and holding a chalice rendered in silver purl and spangles, an eagle before him, within a landscape beside a river, one tree accented with seed beads, on silk ground, with ink and paint detailing, in gold painted frame, sight size 11 3/4 x 9 3/4 in. horizontal tear to silk at center, just above saint''s head (approx. 1/2 width of picture). fading, toning, tarnish to silver accents, age typical thread weakness. giltwood frame now goldpainted. not examined out of frame.
