Large Continental Polychrome Painted and Parcel-gilt Wall Plaque, likely Spanish, late 18th/early 19th century, with openwork design of birds, foliage and pendant husks, shield-shaped panel depicting the Holy Family's Flight from Egypt, the lower borders carved with dolphin and painted with foliage, ht. 57, wd. 54 in. Gilding heavily restored and with numerous repairs to cresting; painted panels with side to side shrinkage cracks and numerous edge chips and minor cracking; heavier than usual wear and losses.
