Ferdinand Pautrot (French, 1832-1874), Large Bronze Figure of a Cockatoo and Monkeys, the bird perched on low palm fronds, over two frightened spider monkeys preparing to attack it with stones and sticks, on naturalistic ovoid base, with mold impressed signature "F. Pautrot," ht. approx. 27, base wd. approx. 24 in. Bird section is currently loose--its rest properly in the base, but the screws that attach it are missing. There is a small section of fan palm broken off, but present (it would attach near the join of the bird to the base). Another larger section of fan palm at lower left is attached to the base at one point with a screw, but would have also been attached by a central solder join, which has been broken. Very dirty.
