Federal Walnut Veneer and Cherry Inlaid Sideboard, coastal North Carolina, c. 1800, with five cockbeaded string-inlaid drawers and two central hinged cupboard doors inlaid with concentric circles, on square tapering string-inlaid legs with cuffs, replaced brasses, refinished, (imperfections), ht. 38 1/2, wd. 74 3/4, dp. 25 1/4 in. top warped; some loss of inlay, especially on the cuffs; the ends of the case with shrinkage cracks; secondary wood is southern yellow pine; patch at right door''s lower hinge; triangular patch just below top to left of left hinged door; missing backsplash; circle of stringing and circular patch to hinged doors not original.
