Stenciled Column and Splat Shelf Clock by Eli Terry, Jr. , Plymouth Connecticut, c. 1840, the mahogany case with stenciled splat and glazed door flanked by smoke-grained and stenciled columns, reverse-painted tablet depicting a Greek Revival building, 8 3/4 in. painted wooden dial with floral decoration and Roman numerals, printed maker's label stating Patent Clocks Invented by Eli Terry Made and Sold at Plymouth Connecticut by Eli Terry, Jr. , thirty-hour time and strike wooden movement with pendulum and cast iron weights, (no significant repairs or replacements), ht. 24 5/8 in. No significant repairs or replacements, original surface, dial untouched, minor losses on tablet on upper sections of building, minor inpainting on green trees, lower left corner cracked.
