Brass, Iron, and Wirework Fire Fender, America or England, late 18th/early 19th century, brass rail over vertical wirework ornamented with wire swags, scrolls, and undulating lines, (imperfections), ht. 11 3/4, wd. 56, dp. 14 1/2 in. Brass rail has two splits and some pitting, one vertical wire has a 2 1/2 in. loss at lower center of fender, also a couple of vertical wires have breaks, some of the thin wires lashing the wirework together is missing or crudely rewired.
