Polychrome Painted and Gilt Wooden Child's Sled, America, late 19th century, pegged construction, the seat panel centered with an applied lithograph depicting putti and grapevines, surrounded by stylized American stars and stripes, the iron-clad runners painted with the name "JENNIE" and scrolled foliage, (minor wear), ht. 4 3/4, wd. 12 3/4, lg. 32 in. One of the pegs on the seat is gone, and another is partially gone, much of the lithograph image is worn, scattered paint wear with age and use. There is no maker''s label or identification anywhere on the sled.
