Federal Mahogany Inlaid and Upholstered Lolling Chair, probably Massachusetts, c. 1800, with serpentine crest and half serpentine arms on concave supports, continuing to square tapering legs, joined to the raking rear legs by stretchers, refinished, (repairs), ht. 40, seat ht. 16 in. one arm with patch where it joins the support; the same arm with two plugs holding the support to the chair frame; the other arm cracked and renailed at the support base; panels directly under the arm supports at the front and sides of the tops of the legs - of unclear use.
