Engraved Whale's Tooth, 19th century, one side of the tooth decorated with incised scene of an interior of a ship captain's quarters, the captain seated at a table peering over a chart, the reverse depicting the ship COLUMBUS at sea, the ship's name inscribed on the stern, (age cracks), lg. 6 1/2 in. Age cracks-one about 1 3/4 in. lg from base into interior scene through captain''s knee, one about 2 in. lg. from base through sea and rigging above stern, also a few other very minor age cracks.
