Chippendale Mahogany and Birch Carved Oxbow Chest, north shore of Massachusetts, 1780-90, the shaped drawers outlined in cockbeading above the central fan and scroll-carved drop pendant, on claw-and-ball feet, old refinish, with a period label on bottom drawer reading: "Canton and Pekin Tea Company of New York and Ipswich, Mass," bail brasses appear to be original, refinished, (very minor imperfections), ht. 35, case wd. 36 1/4, overall 39, dp. 21 1/2 in. Note: "Treadwell and Jewett" inscribed in pencil on a drawer side. secondary wood white pine; original blocks and drop pendant; drawer with 1" scratch; drawer fronts veneered.
