Pieced and Appliqued Wool Penny Table Mat, America, late 19th/early 20th century, composed of multicolored hexagonal woven wool segments appliqued with wool disks arranged in hexagonal patterns, on a green wool ground further mounted on lengths of woven wool fabric, backed with lengths of woven cotton denim, (repairs, stains, losses), 22 1/2 x 109 1/2 in. Some edges have stitched repairs, several wool yarn stitch losses outlining disks, some brownish stains probably dye bleed on a couple brown fabric areas, a few small spots of losses from moths.
