Set of Eight Regency Carved Mahogany Dining Chairs, early 19th century, comprising two armchairs and six side chairs, each with gadrooned cresting and scrolled ears above a ropetwist slat and slip-seat, on saber legs, seat ht. 18 1/2 in. Color very good; carving good; all with L-shaped metal brackets for additional supports to legs; one with front rail off but present; one with cracked leg joint; overall age typical additional minor defects, dents and scuffs. By and large they are fairly sturdy; however, the armchairs are definitely the worst of the group.
